Nobody expects Russian police to be delicate. And perhaps rightfully so, maybe delicacy is not the hallmark of good law enforcement. But there is a difference between not being tactful, and being malicious, and Russian police often fall on the wrong end of that spectrum.

If you are a wealthy or well known person, or someone stands to gain by your downfall, chances are that anything the police find out about you will find its way out into the public eye. Even if you are not a famous person, you should be concerned about the wrong information about you falling into the wrong hands.
